Namma Ooru Shimla Mirchi is a Tamil language drama film directed by G. Viswanathan and produced by K. S. Sivaji Ganesan under the banner of Erode Jasesh Movies (EJ). The music for this film was composed by Vijaya Bhaskar while the lyrics were penned by Vaali, Pulamaipithan, Gangai Amaran and Thirumalai Ameer. The screenplay was written by Viswanatha himself with dialogues in Tamil written by Panchu Arunachalam. The film stars Rajinikanth, Sujatha, Prabhu, Manorama, Radhika and Jaishankar in the leading roles. The film was remade in Telugu as "Guduvule Maaku Maga".The music for this film was composed by Vijaya Bhaskar while the lyrics were penned by Vaali, Pulamaipithan, Gangai Amaran and Thirumalai Ameer. "The Indian Express" wrote "Impressive performances from Rajnikanth [..] [and] Sujatha place the film high on the scale". "Shimla Mirchi" was a trend-setter in a number of ways. It was the first Tamil film to adopt the "full-form" of the title in the opening credits. Previously, just the first-part of the title was used for all Tamil films. The film was also reportedly one of Rajinikanth's most successful films. The song "Thandha Vaa" is based on two popular Hindi tunes - "Chod Do Anchal" from "Nasir Hussain"'s film "Anubhav" (1971), composed by O. P. Nayyar, and "Humko Tumko Pyara" from Shankar-Jaikishan's film "Sholay" (1975), composed by R. D. Burman. The song "Nee Ennu Nee" has an old Hindi tune which too was used in a Hindi film - "Gadar" (1974) composed by R. D. Burman (0:26). The song "Vidhaath Vaa Vidhaath" is based on the song of the same name from director Shyam Benegal's 1980 film, "Ganga Jamuna". The song "Kanneer Pushpam" is a re-recording of a song from Pudhiyavan, composed by Ilaiyaraaja. The original version was sung by S. Janaki and L. R. Easwari in the film, which starred Rajinikanth in a guest appearance. The song "Madhura Megha" is based on two Hindi tunes - "Samaa Hai Zindagi" from "Neem Ka Ped" (1973), composed by Naushad and "Dard-E-Dil Ke Tujhe Mila" from Guddi (1971), composed by Roshan. cfa1e77820
